TAHS junior Shaye Loose crowned Sinking Valley Fair Queen
Loose will also compete for the State Fair Queen title this January in Hershey
TAHS Junior Shaye Loose was crowned Sinking Valley Fair Queen at the Sinking Valley Farm Show in September.
“Becoming Sinking Valley Fair Queen makes me extremely happy because I am representing my community,” said Loose, “I’m proud to be the Sinking Valley Fair Queen because this fair represents home to me. I have been going to this fair since I was an infant.”
The judges at the Sinking Valley Fair look for specific traits within their contestants. “[They] look for contestants who are self-confident,” says Loose, “who give firm handshakes and girls who can talk in front of crowds. Judges also look for girls who are not afraid to meet and talk to new people.”
By becoming the Sinking Valley Fair Queen Loose will also compete for the state fair queen title this January in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
“I am looking forward to representing everyone who has supported me through everything I have ever done in my life. This fair is my favorite because as fair queen I get to meet members of my community that I have never gotten to meet before, and I can learn so much be listening to their stories and by making new friends,” said Loose.
Loose added, “The Sinking Valley Farm Show is a community fair. [It is] a safe place for families to enjoy entertainment all week and make new friends, and you don’t have to cook or do any dishes!”
The Sinking Valley Farm Show is held every year on the second week of September.
