A big sixth-inning rally helped the Tyrone Lady Eagles improve their record to .500 with a 9-6 win against Huntingdon on Tuesday, April 16.
Layna Dibert belted her second home run of the season and had three RBIs to team to victory.
Freshman Lucy Fogleman singled in the second to drive in the game’s first run.
Junior Sam Shaw added to the scoreboard in the top of the third with another RBI single.
In the top of the fifth, senior Allison Beeman made it to third with a hit to right center. A pop fly to center from sophomore Amariah Sprankle allowed Beeman to tag up and score.
Following that was Dibert’s solo home run to make the score 4-0.
The Bearcat’s battled back and tied the game with two doubles making the score 4-4 by the end of the fifth.
Despite that, the Lady Eagles took over in the sixth scoring five runs with five hits.
The Lady Eagles collected 13 hits in the game. Shaw went 3 for 4 to lead the team in hits.
Kaitlynn Rockwell, Beeman, and Fogleman all had multiple hits for the Lady Eagles.
Rockwell pitched a complete game with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk, while allowing 9 hits
Huntingdon dropped its record to 5-2.
