Coming off of a big upset loss to Hollidaysburg, the 4-4 Lady Eagles played 1-7 Bishop McCort Crushers on Thursday.
The Lady Eagles got back in the win column, beating McCort 3-0 with a good serve and pass game.
“I think that the win over McCort helped us bounce back and get back into the game. We worked together as a team and held each other accountable to keep pushing for a win,” Tyrone senior Brianna Harris said.
McCort was a scrappy team that provided the Lady Eagles with a challenge, but the Eagles had very good ball placement and smart offensive plays.
The first set was competitive with Tyrone beating McCort 25-23, but McCort earned most of its points from Tyrone’s offensive and defensive errors. Tyrone got stuck in serve receive allowing McCort to only be down by one.
But the Lady Eagles pulled ahead in the second and third sets, limiting their errors with an effective pass game to finish the second and third sets both 25-14.
The Lady Eagles will face Bishop Guilfoyle and Richland this week and are hoping to get two wins to improve their record to 7-4.
