The Lady Eagles received their second win on Saturday, May 2nd, and split the Lady Damsels in a double header.

Senior Shannon Gearhart received the win allowing six hits and striking out three.

“We finally were able to make a big inning happen by scoring nine runs in the third inning to give a huge lead,” said Head Coach Peter Baran, “This was the game we have been waiting for all season.”

“While we continued to have our one “bad” inning, we managed to hang on to the lead. Anna had a bases loaded triple and Emily had a 2 RBI to help out the team, and Anna, Finnley, and Madi had our first 6-4-3 double play of the season,” added Baran.

Junior Anna Baran led the team and drove in three runs, and had multiple hits including a triple. Freshman Emily Hamer drove in two runs and hit a double.

At the end of the third inning, the Lady Eagles were up 13-2, but at the top of the fifth inning, the Lady Damsels were able to find some holes and score eight more runs making the score 13-10.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Eagles answered back with one more run and held the Damsels at ten to end the game.

Eight of the nine Lady Eagles in the game had at least one RBI to help out with this win.

“Shannon pitched a great game, and this was our second win of the season, and I couldn’t be more proud of these girls! Hopefully there will be more wins in our future,” said Baran
