Lady Eagles Shutout PO on Senior Night
The Lady Eagles sent their seniors home with a win on senior night shutting Philipsburg-Osceola out 5-0.
The Lady Eagles held a senior recognition day Wednesday evening to recognize seniors Chloe LaRosa, Avalyn Moore, Eliza Vance, Allison Partner, and Rayann Walls.
“It was a sad day because it was our last senior night, but it was also a great day because it was our first senior night win in a while,” said senior Avalyn Moore.
The game started out fast on Tyrone’s end, as they dominated PO from the defensive line to the attacking end. The Lady Eagles kept possession giving the Mounties no chance to score.
Senior Eliza Vance took the ball down the field, as the defender started to get closer Vance shot the ball into the box. Senior Avalyn Moore received the ball and scored giving Tyrone their first goal.
Later in the half senior Chloe LaRosa drove past the defender. As she sprinted up the sideline she saw an opening. She took a few more touches to take a shot scoring her first goal of the night.
As the first half ended 2-0 and Tyrone with a lead they wanted more. They were ready to rack up the score and make sure PO goes home with a loss. Junior Lainey Quick dribbled past three mountie defenders into the 18. She took one last touch before she landed the ball in the back of the net.
LaRosa received the ball from Vance scoring Tyrone’s 4th goal of the night and giving Vance her second assist.
Sophomore Lexi Hess received the ball right in front of the box. She took a quick touch to turn and laid the ball to LaRosa. LaRosa passed the last defender scoring the last goal of the night. Tyrone left the field with a 5-0 win over PO.
