Lady Eagles Raid the Red Raiders
The Tyrone Lady Eagles kept up with their winning ways Thursday night when they traveled to Bellefonte and raiden the Red Raiders defeating them by a score of 54-22.
The Lady Eagle defense held a death grip on the Bellefonte offense from the opening tip off. Their defense only allowed three points in the opening quarter and held Bellefonte to single digit in every quarter.
Tyrone’s Jaida Parker led all scorers with 18 points, Stephanie Ramsey added 10 and Emma Getz had 9. Tyrone knocked down 5 threes on the night. Ramsey had two and Shaw, Saltsgiver, and Brodzina each had one.
Tyrone had the game won from the opening tip off as they came out blazing in the first quarter. They stormed out of the gates taking a 16-3 lead after the first quarter. Tyrone only added to their lead in the second as they went into halftime with the game under full control leading 28-11.
Tyrone’s shot fell right back into rhythm in the second half. They continued to knock down shot after shot and their defensive grip on Bellefonte only tightened. They held a comfortable 47-17.
As the fourth quarter began Bellefonte’s hope for a comeback were locked away. Tyrone closed out the game with ease moving their record to 10-2 on the season with a still perfect Mountain League record.
They look to keep rolling when they travel to Penns Valley on Wednesday putting their perfect Mountain League record on the line.
