Lady Eagles Make Easy Work of P-O

The Tyrone Lady Eagles didn’t give up more than five points in any quarter in an easy home win over Philipsburg-Osceola, 48-11.

Tyrone senior Kayelin Gibbons was the high scorer in the game with 25, bringing her closer to her 1,000-point goal. Behind her was freshman Alayna Woomer with 9.

“Kayelin is doing a great job getting open, but we need to get more consistent scoring from others,” said Tyrone Head Coach Luke Rhoades.

With most of the Lady Eagles’ points coming from Gibbons, they will need assistance from others to make it far in the playoffs.

The game was never close as Tyrone took a 13-2 lead after the first quarter. After going up 29-2 at the half, Tyrone Head Coach Luke Rhoades let his starters rest and got some valuable varsity minutes for the JV players.

Tyrone’s Alison Weston and Amariah Sprankle each had 4 points, Alanya Greene and Claire Lehman had 3, and Elise Volders had 2 to round out the scoring from the Lady Eagles.

Sophomore guard Lily Warlow led the Mounties with 7 points.

The win improved the Lady Eagles to 9-7.
