The Lady Eagles started strong defensively in the first couple of innings but struggled to keep the potent Bald Eagle offense off the board, losing 13-0 at home on Wednesday.
Freshman Jayden Albright started for the Tyrone Eagles and went four innings.
Albright didn’t give up a run in the first two innings, but as she faced the tough Bald Eagle hitters the second time through the lineup, they adjusted and started to connect with some hard hit balls.
Offensively, Tyrone struggled to make contact with the ball and went hitless until the fourth inning.
Junior centerfielder Grace Naylor broke up BEA’s no-hitter with a single off of a ground ball to the infield. Naylor made her way to second base on a wild pitch but unfortunately, was not able to score.
Senior Sam Shaw came in relief of Albright in the fifth inning. Shaw did a great job pitching, but as a team the Lady Eagles struggled to make plays, and the game ended 13-0.
The game was a hard loss, but the girls are putting it in the past and getting ready for their games next week. They have a positive attitude for the rest of the season and are ready to keep up their hard work.
