The Lady Eagles dropped to 0-2 on Tuesday, August 28, losing to the Philipsburg Mounties in four long sets.
The Lady Eagles got off to a great start in the first set, dominating the Mounties 25-15, making PO’s fans silent.
“Our energy was unmatchable on and off the court, allowing us to work as a team, and overall just score points,” said sophomore middle blocker Lola Woomer.
Tyrone’s serve and pass game was effective, and their hitters were doing well at finding the court.
In the second set, the Lady Eagles fell short with a final score of 25-19.
Tyrone had a slow start and had themselves in a rut, but managed to pull themselves out; however, they still lost the second set.
The start of the third set was almost identical to the second, and again Tyrone was not able to pull through, losing the set 25-21.
Unlike the second and third sets, in the fourth set, the Lady Eagles were keeping a great pace with the Lady Mounties. Both teams were neck and neck the whole way until the last couple of points, which ended 25-20 in the Mounties’ favor.
