Lady Eagles Inch Closer to .500 with 4-1 Win Over Clearfield
The Lady Eagles softball stole the lead late and defeated Clearfield 4-1 on Tuesday, May 1.
The game was tied at one with the Golden Eagles batting in the bottom of the fifth when Ally Jones singled, scoring a run.
Clearfield opened up scoring in the first inning when an error scored one run for Clearfield.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Tyrone tied things up at one. Grace Gensimore drew a walk, scoring one run. Ella Pearson singled to right field, then stole second. Pearson then advanced to third on an error by the shortstop and scored on a wild pitch.
Cate Baran struck out 10 with no walks and also had two hits and an RBI for the Lady Eagles.
Alley Jones and Ella Pearson each had two hits and an RBI.
