The Lady Eagles were riding a hot four-game winning streak going into their game at Bishop Guilfoyle last Friday.
However, there are not many area teams as hot as BG, winners of seven of their first eight games.
Something had to give and with a balanced scoring attack and strong defensive effort, the Lady Marauders cruised over Tyrone 54-26.
Tyrone had prepared for a tough inside game facing 6’1 forward Stella Yeskey. With her being absent from the game, BG relied on their outside shots, and they fell.
At the end of the first quarter Tyrone was down 23-9, going into halftime the score was 36-15 BG.
Coming out of halftime the Lady Eagles were hoping to shut down the gap and keep playing at their pace.
The score at the end of the third quarter was 52-19 BG, with Tyrone taking the hard loss at the end.
Despite the loss, there were some positive takeaways such as freshman Lola Woomer scoring nine points, along with junior Alayna Woomer adding five, and junior Rylan Crowell with four.
