The Tyrone Lady Eagles were upset 3-2 on Thursday, March 27, against the Clearfield Lady Bisons.
Tyrone put up a good fight but struggled to advance their runners in scoring positions.
The Lady Bisons started strong and put up a run on two hits in the first inning.
The Lady Eagles answered in the bottom of the inning with a run of their own.
There was an offensive pause for both teams until the top of the 3rd when Tyrone drilled in another run, putting them in a 2-1 lead going into the 4th inning.
Once again, there was an offensive pause for both teams until the top of the 6th inning.
The Bisons didn’t have any big hits in the 6th inning, however, they were able to effectively advance their runners around the bases, putting them in scoring position and allowing them to end the 6th inning in a 2-2 tie.
For the Lady Eagles to pull off the win, the last inning of the game needed to be error-free.
Playing any error-free inning can be a physical struggle, and when pressure is added, it becomes a mental struggle as well.
Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles made a few errors, allowing the Bisons to score, making it 3-2 Bisons going into the bottom of the 7th inning.
Unfortunately, the Tyrone Lady Eagles were not able to score in the final inning, making the final score of the game 3-2.
The Lady Eagles worked hard but came up short in the end. They have some mental battles to face and work through but are looking forward to their next game at Bishop McCort on Friday, April 4th.
