Despite the Tyrone Lady Eagles effort, the soccer team lost 6-1 against the undefeated Clearfield Lady Bison.

Tyrone knew this game was going to be a challenge after losing by the same score in the previous Clearfield game.

Both teams came ready to play and started out fast and precise. The game went scoreless until the seventh minute when the Lady Bison scored their first goal. Clearfield’s Hipps broke through the Lady Eagles defense, making the game 1-0.

The Lady Bison kept their lead by scoring two more goals to end the first half. Bison’s second goal was an unassisted goal made by Smith. Hipps put one more in the net assisted by Ryen.

The Lady Eagles were not giving up and started the second half with high intensity. Although Tyrone’s defense stopped most balls on their end of the field, Ryen slipped through to give the Bisons a 4-0 lead.

The last two Bison goals were scored by Smith and Ryen. Smith went unassisted and Ryen was assisted by Hipps.

Tyrone was able to get their first goal with twenty minutes remaining in half making the score 6-1. The goal was made by junior Eliza Vance and was assisted by freshman Lexi Hess.

Hess took the ball up the right side of the field and crossed the ball. The ball went flying over Clearfield’s defense and landed in front of the goal. Vance was then able to gain control of the ball and finish it to the bottom corner of the net.
