The Lady Eagles’ 2024 season ended with a 4-0 loss against Hollidaysburg in the District 6 semifinal round at Tiger Stadium in Hollidaysburg on October 23.
The two teams met early in the season, with the Lady Tigers defeating the Lady Eagles 3-0 back on September 18. But the Lady Eagles have improved their play throughout the season and were hoping to pull off an upset.
Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles could not penetrate the Tiger defensive line, and when they did Hollidaysbug keeper Natalie Foster was able to stop all eight Tyrone shots on goal.
The Lady Eagles have skillful and smart players, although there are points when they struggle to execute all of the goals and defensive skills they need to win games.
The Lady Eagles fought hard the whole game but in the end it wasn’t enough.
The Tigers started strong and got themselves on the board early when Frazier scored 14 minutes into the first half. Her goal was assisted by Hollidaysburgh’s senior Lauren Stevenson.
After Lauren Stevenson’s assist, she decided that she wanted a taste of her own and scored a goal 20 minutes after Fraziers. Stevenson’s goal was assisted by Bailey Stoher.
With only 2 minutes remaining in the first half Bella Vent, a senior from Hollidaysburg, had an assisted goal. Emma Hayer assisted her goal. This made the score 0-4 going into halftime.
The Lady Tigers didn’t come out as strong in the second half. Stevenson scored the only goal in the second half. The goal was assisted by senior Chloe Stoher 3 minutes into the last half of the game.
Although the Lady Eagles didn’t walk away with a win, they were all grateful for the season they had and are looking forward to next year.
The team ended with a record of 5-13-1.
