Coming off a two-game winning streak, the Tyrone varsity girls soccer team traveled to play Bellefonte on Thursday, October 2nd. Unfortunately, the girls fell short, taking home a 5-2 loss to the Lady Red Raiders.
“We tried our hardest to win, but we had a few injuries and people out, so it kind of brought the team down a little bit,” senior Jaysa Carns said.
The Lady Eagles kept the Lady Bison from scoring until about 20 minutes into the first half.
Bellefonte came in more aggressively and scored again for the second time in the first half, making the score 0-2 Bellefonte, but the Lady Eagles responded to make the score 2-1 going into the second half.
Going into the second half, the Lady Bison scored at the six-minute mark of the second half. But again, the Lady Eagles responded with another goal, and were fighting to get back in the game, but the Lady Eagles lost their momentum and Bellefonte scored twice in the last two minutes of the game to ice the Lady Eagles.
