The Lady Eagles suffered an emotional 43-36 loss against Greater Johnstown in front of a hometown double-header crowd on Friday, January 31. .
The Lady Eagles record fell to 9-9, leaving them in 5th place and struggling to keep the window open for an opportunity at the 4A playoffs.
Going into Friday’s game the Lady Eagles knew the physicality that Johnstown played with and did a great job matching their energy.
Neither team was able to get out to a big lead at any point in the first half and Tyrone went into the locker room at halftime down only three points.
Alayna Woomer led the Lady Eagles with 15 points. Senior Alayna Greene scored 7 points and freshman Lola Woomer drained two 3-pointers for six points on the night.
Claire Lehman and Brielle Parker both had 4 points. Lehman got her points by knocking down jumpers inside the 3-point line. Opposite of her, Parker got two of her points from the foul line and hit a jumper.
Tyrone was outscored 16-7 in the third, allowing Johnstown to build a lead big enough to hold onto during the final quarter.
