The Tyrone Lady Eagles had back to back wins this weekend to extend their win streak to 12.

The Lady Eagles beat the Clearfield Lady Bison 58-34 on Friday night, and were back in action Saturday night beating Philipsburg 72-59.

Sophomore Kasey Engle led all scorers on Friday night against the Lady Bison with 23 points total.

Junior Finnley Christine added 12 points of her own to help lead Tyrone to the win.

Saturday night’s matchup had a much higher energy level than Friday night.

Christine hit three 3-point goals while Engle connected with five of her own and they ended the game with 50 points combined.

“I thought we played well together and executed the offense,” said Engle.

“We played very well being that we had back-to-back games,” said Christine.

Senior Lindsey Kemp added 12 points of her own to the board.

“We played hard and executed plays very well. I am proud of how well we are playing,” said Kemp.

Despite their two victories this past weekend, the Lady Eagles have their eyes set on the overall goal: becoming Mountain League Champions.

“We have three huge games this week that we need to win, and then a huge game against Penns Valley next week,” added Engle. “I’m confident that we can be Mountain League Champions.”

“We have a huge week this week which is going to help us toward our goal. If things go our way we will be back-to-back Mountain League Champions,” said Christine.

The Lady Eagles are back in action Wednesday night at Bellefonte.
