Tyrone walked into their Easter break with a well-deserved and much-needed 17-1 mercy-rule win on the road at Bishop Guilfoyle Academy.
Tyrone had their highest-scoring game of the season with 17 runs on 17 hits.
The Lady Eagles scored 9 runs in the top of the fourth and sealed the win in four innings.
Tyrone’s pitcher, Kaitlyn Rockwell, struck out 9 batters and only gave up two hits. At the plate, Rockwell had three hits along with two RBIs.
Senior Sam Shaw had three hits, two of which were doubles, and Amariah Sprankle had two hits and three RBIs.
Two underclassmen, Hannah Cramer and Sage Harris, both drove in two runs apiece. Lucy Fogleman and Allison McNelis both ended the game with two hits.
BG’s only run was a solo home run in the fourth inning by Kephart.
Tyrone was also perfect in the field with no errors in four innings.
The Lady Eagles walked away with their first win of the season, which was necessary for confidence and drive.
