Lady Eagles End Season with Win
The Tyrone Lady Eagles softball team took home a big 3-2 win over league-leading Bellefonte to end their season in style.
Beth Pearson scored the first run with a double in the first inning.
Maddy Rockwell gave up only four hits on the mound. KK Brodzina led with three hits, Beth Pearson had one, and Allison Beeman, Amariah Sprankle, and Maci Lingenfelter each had one.
The score was tied 2-2 until the last inning when Tyrone senior Maci Lingenfelter hit a single. She moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Emma Dibert. Emily Smith then hit which resulted in a fielder’s choice advancing Lingenfelter to third.
Brodiza then hit a single to the right side scoring Lingenfelter to end the game with a score of 3-2.
All four seniors contributed to getting this win, and are going to be missed next season.
“It has been such an honor to play with this amazing team. I will miss playing with all of them every day. Our season this year didn’t end in the playoffs but I never could have asked for a more perfect way to end my senior season,” said senior Emily Smith.
