Coming off a big 10-5 win over the Bellwood Lady Blue Devils in the Backyard Brawl, the Lady Eagles made it two in a row with a 9-4 road win over the Hollidaysburg Lady Tigers.
Ally McNelis led the team in hits going 3 for 4. Seniors Allison Beeman, KK Brodzina, and freshman Kaitlyn Rockwell also had multiple hits throughout the game.
Rockwell also got the win with a complete game, seven-strikeout effort.
Tyrone Lady Golden Eagles Head Coach Hillary Sollener has been pleased with the girl’s progress over the last few games.
“We played really well together. Every person in our lineup had a hit. It was a great example of a full team win,” said Sollener.
The game did not start out in Tyrone’s favor. Tyrone went down quietly in the top of the first and in the bottom of the inning Lady Tigers put three runs on the board. .
But the Lady Eagles battled back in the second with hits from Tuskovitch, Brodzina, and Rockwell to make the score 4-3.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Lady Eagles had another big inning. The score was 8-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Lady Eagles would score one more insurance run in the seventh making the final score 9-4.
With very few errors in the sixth and seventh innings, the Lady Eagles held the score and earned a big win against Hollidaysburg to improve their overall record to 5-6.
