The Lady Eagles had a tough loss on Tuesday night at Bald Eagle in four challenging but disciplined sets.
Tyrone had a good serve and pass game and knew where to place the ball offensively.
The girls took the first set 25-19, being in control offensively and defensively.
The second set was neck in neck, but Bald Eagle came out on top pulling away the win 25-22, Tyrone tried to slow the game down the best they could.
Bald Eagle began to pick more balls up defensively and place the ball in key spots to get Tyrone out of their system.
“I think the loss helped us mentally and physically in the practice gym,” junior Kylee Nelson said.
The Eagles started off well in the third set but started to get themselves stuck in serve receive for a fair amount of points, letting the lead get too big, for Bald Eagle to also take that set 25-16.
“We started off very strong in the first set. I think our mental toughness got the best of us,” Nelson said.
Tyrone fought their way out of a 4-point deficit, allowing them to only be down by 1. The rest of game four was very tight, being neck in neck. Tyrone wasn’t able to pull out the win to go to the 5th set, with Bald Eagle winning 25-21
The Lady Eagles will play Bellwood on Thursday, October 12.
