The Tyrone Lady Eagles Girls Soccer team opened their 2025 season with a tie in their first game last Monday at Huntingdon with a final score of 2-2.
The Lady Eagles had a strong showing in their first match, led by goals from junior Allie Blaska and Maya Plummer.
“We played hard, worked well as a team even with injuries, and overall played a good game,” said senior Piper Myers.
Myers led the team with seven shots on goal and earned an assist, along with Emily Houghton.
Goal scorer Plummer had six shots on goal, and Blaska, who scored Tyrone’s other goal, had five.
In the net for Tyrone was Pyper Sparkling, who stopped 15 of the 17 shots that she faced.
Both teams were hot in the first half, scoring two goals. After the halftime break, both offenses slowed with neither team scoring, which continued into the overtime period.
