It’s Time to Dump Trump

In a matter of just two years and 47 days, Donald J. Trump, businessman, billionaire and the 45th president of the United States, has broken down or, dare I say, decimated the very sanctity of the position of our nation’s leader.

President Trump has crushed the integrity of this country to a fine and worthless dust, and the snake oil salesman our great leader is, continues to shovel that dust into the mouths of his worthy disciples one lie at a time.

The treachery of Donald Trump’s public political action is merely the tip of the iceberg of contempt that is his presidency, and to plead ignorance to our president’s wrongdoing is to contribute to the nullification of honorable and respectable politics in this country.

Trump’s legacy as the force which halted constitutional American politics began before his presidential run even started. Dating back to the 1980’s, Trump has nearly 20 different accusations against him of sexual misconduct against women. From groping their genitals to kissing them without consent, our man in office has a history of getting a little too touchy with seemingly any female within his immediate vicinity.

This disgusting behavior has been described  by Donald as “totally false,” and Trump has referred to his accusers as “liars” in the midst of rallies and public events. These abhorrent allegations and the pitiful efforts to dismiss them have been nothing but one of many nails thus far in the coffin of Trump’s presidency, and the amount of women stepping forward against him continues to climb.

Another stain on President Trump’s record is one that insists upon not only the illegality of his campaign and presidency, but also of the nature of his minimalist sense of honor, political integrity and disloyalty to his own fundamental premises.

During his presidential campaign and tenure in office, Donald Trump has lied countless times to the American people, his business dealings, international relations and his overall political agenda are all encased deep within a shell of dishonesty stemming directly from the president himself.

In news as recent as February 27th, it has been revealed by Michael Cohen, most notably revered as Trump’s “fixer,” during congressional testimony, that Donald Trump has been a direct conspirator in instances of criminal wrongdoing.

Cohen brought claims of tax evasion to the floor yesterday during his hours long testifying against President Trump, claims that are likely to be much more heavily investigated going forward due to the nature of questioning from New York State Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who, during Cohen’s testimony, addressed the secretive nature of Trump’s tax returns.

Donald Trump has, since his campaign in 2016, refused to present his official tax return documentation under the pretenses of an ongoing audit into such tax returns. While an IRS audit does not prohibit the public release of tax documents, President Trump is quoted as saying that, as of November of 2018, “I didn’t say it prevented me, I said lawyers will tell you not to do it.”

However, the IRS were not, and are still not, conducting an audit of Trump’s taxes. This was a lie. Despite Trump’s claims of being under audit during his campaign and presidency, Cohen presumes that President Trump was simply concerned with the nature of his tax returns and the possible information that could be obtained from such documents. Cohen, unable to obtain a copy of Trump’s supposed audit, stated very plainly during testimony, “I presume he is not under audit.”

Trump’s misdeeds do not end with his private matters however, they simply become much more tangible. In a single concrete declaration on February 15th, 2019, Donald Trump issued a state of emergency for the purpose of gaining funds to permit the construction of his proposed border wall, funds that congress refused to turn over. This act was a blatant and alarming abuse of power on behalf of our president.

To allow the institution of a state of emergency in the case of the border wall is to dispose of all aspects of a dignified and respectable legislative system. Donald Trump did not act under the fairness of the constitution and as such, this executive action should be overturned.

The scare tactics and fear mongering instilled into our nation by those in the highest positions of power are not rectified by entirely unconstitutional acts. Congress did not permit the funding for the border wall and the backlash seen in recent days only further solidifies that our president is acting upon the interest of himself and not that of our delegated officials, his own colleagues in office nor that of the american people.

Many Republican party officials have voiced their own negative opinions of this order from the president, further proving the disapproval of such action from all sides of politics. Republican senator Rand Paul of Kentucky stated in a recent speech that, “I can’t vote to give the president the power to spend money that hasn’t been appropriated by Congress.” this was followed up with, “We may want more money for border security, but Congress didn’t authorize it. If we take away those checks and balances, it’s a dangerous thing.” This is one clear indicator of Trump’s unconstitutional actions. Senator Paul is right, to take away the fundamental system of checks and balances is truly dangerous to the core values of the United States government.

Trump’s juvenile actions do not display the traits of a real american leader, but those of an impulsive, temperamental and weak minded man. His own party isn’t backing him, his opposition are fighting him and the nation is only further divided, Donald Trump has done the furthest thing from making America great again, Donald Trump has turned the American political body into, if I may pay homage to our great leader and his ever so eloquent wording, a real sh*thole.

Donald J. Trump: sexual predator, deceiver, and the 45th president of the United States, in less than 700 days will, as our history’s biggest political failure to date, leave the oval office and continue his life of luxury only to leave his mess for our next president to clean up.
