Becca Fitzpatrick crafted a captivating world in this modern tale of fallen angels. In short, Hush, Hush is about a teenage girl named Nora Gray. Nora was a normal girl – she thought – until she met Patch, her mysterious lab partner. She was stuck with him because – surprise – the last seat was beside him. Nora didn’t like Patch at first; he annoyed her. But somehow Patch manages to catch and hold Nora’s attention, against her better judgment. She knows, perhaps instinctually, that Patch is dangerous. But with eyes that seem to see into her soul, he seems to know everything about her, and she falls into his world.
His world is a whirlwind of dangerous encounters, near-death experiences, and crazy people. Everything about him brings dark beings nearer and nearer. His motives aren’t the best, either (think self-serving… he doesn’t like what he is, and she might be able to change that.) Soon, though, he finds himself drawn to her… for better or, well, worse.
After a long string of alarming events, Nora is conflicted. She’s not sure whether to trust Patch, or run away as fast as her legs can carry her.
She knows there’s something off about him, something inhuman.
But when she tries to find some answers, she finds out that perhaps some things are better left unknown.
She is caught in a battle of epic proportions; Heaven versus the fallen, a battle that has gone on for millennia.
Readers will find that this tale captures their attention and drags them into another world, full of darkness and deceit, with the occasional light around the corner.
Nora will discover that seeing isn’t always believing, and things are not always as they seem.
