Easter for Eli is an organization that delivers Easter baskets to hospitalized children. It was founded in honor of Elias “Eli” Garrett a 3-year-old boy who passed away from Non-Hodgkin’s T-Cell Lymphoma on May 7th, 2009, just 10 days before his fourth birthday.
In his memory, the “Easter for Eli” Foundation collects Easter baskets to be delivered to children who are hospitalized over the Easter Holiday.
The Tyrone HOSA/Heath Tech program is doing a donation drive to support Easter for Eli. They are asking all TAHS students and staff to support their effort.
To support Easter for Eli, students and staff can donate the following items:
- Toys: These can include small toys, puzzles, or playsets suitable for hospital children.
- Games: Board games, card games, or other interactive games that children can enjoy during their hospital stay.
- Books: Colorful books or activity books that can provide entertainment and distraction.
- Gift Cards: These can be used to purchase additional items or supplies for the baskets
HOSA asks that people remember to include things for teenagers as well.
The last day to donate is Thursday, March 6th.
All items can be dropped off in the Health Tech Room 135 or in the boxes placed in the main offices at the elementary, middle, and high schools.
