The Tyrone Golden Eagles remained untouched Tuesday night as they defeated Mountain League rival, the Central Dragons, by a score of 4-0 to move their record to 10-0. Junior Kevin Lehner pitched a complete game, only allowing 4 hits while striking out 6.

Tyrone’s offense was held quiet for most of the night but came up big with the big hits when they were needed the most. Tyrone’s offense was led by Andrew Pearson who had a team-high two hits. Tyrone’s entire team fed off Pearson’s hitting energy as they had six players also record hits.

The first 4 innings of the game were a pitching standoff, both pitchers mowing down the other team’s lineup time and time again without allowing any runs, while only giving up a handful of hits.

Tyrone’s offense came through in the bottom of the 5th inning when they finally started to hit the ball off of the Central lefty. They exploded for 4 runs which ultimately won them the game. Colson Lewis led off the inning with a double and later came around to score on a double off the bat of Andrew Pearson.

After the big inning, Lehner went back to work on the mound for the Golden Eagles, mowing down Central hitters up and down the lineup, keeping the 0 on the scoreboard.  When the top of the 7th inning rolled around, Lehner went back out to the mound even though he was quickly approaching the 100 pitch limit.

Lehner shut down the Dragons one final time, securing the complete game shutout for his best outing of the year so far. The Golden Eagles record moves to 10-0 on the season. They look to keep rolling as their schedule starts over when they play Bellefonte on Thursday in a rematch of the season opener.
