Golden Eagles Outlasted by Strong Hollidaysburg Team
Strong second half propels Golden Tigers Past Eagles
Despite holding tough in the first half, an overpowering Hollidaysburg team was ultimately too much for a banged up Tyrone squad, handing the Golden Eagles their 6th loss of the season 38-7.
The game was better than what the score showed, considering that Tyrone was dealing with injuries to quarterback Parker Mitchell (ankle) linebacker Denver Light (shoulder), lineman Kaleb Snook (shoulder) and lineman Braedan Nevling-Ray (leg).
Despite the fact that senior Brandon Loose racked up 117 yards of total offense and Parker Mitchell had 13 completions for 173 yards.
The first quarter of the game was a defensive standstill between the two teams, neither team putting any points on the board.
Hollidaysburg opened the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Brady Walters to Trevor Miller, giving The Tigers a 7-0 lead with 9:45 left in the first half. Tyrone would come back and tie the game with a 3-yard TD run by Senior Brandon Loose with 5:20 left in the half. Hollidaysburg went on to score again giving the Tiger a 14-7 lead going into the half.

The second half was all Tigers with the Tyrone defense not able to get a stop and the offense couldn’t muster up any solid drives. The Tigers outscored the Eagles 24-0 in the second half with Hollidaysburg scoring 10 points in the third, and 14 in the fourth.
Both teams were plagued by penalties throughout the whole game Tyrone with 12 adding up to 65 yards and Hollidaysburg had 9 for 72 yards.
With the loss Tyrone’s record moves to 2-6 on the season and their hopes of making the District 6 playoffs dwindle further with every passing week, Tyrone takes on Penns Valley next week in their homecoming game.
