The Tyrone Golden Eagle football team lost their season finale Friday night in a hard fought battle against the Huntingdon Bearcats by a score of 30-13. The score doesn’t show how hard both teams battled throughout the game.

The first half belonged to the Bearcats as they scored 7 points in the first quarter and 10 in the second. Their defense held the Golden Eagles offense to zero points in the first half. The first half ended with Huntingdon holding a 17-0 lead.

Tyrone came out in the second half determined not to end their season on a blowout. Tyrone scored 13 points in the third quarter cutting the Bearcats lead to 13-0. Tyrone was about to cut Huntingdon’s lead once again but the Bearcat defense picked off Lucas and returned the ball deep into Tyrone territory where they were able to put the game out of reach.

The Golden Eagles finished with a disappointing 2-8 after their promising season was plagued by injuries to star players. They look ahead to 2020 where those players look to pick back off where they left off and bring Tyrone back to glory.
