The girls’ tennis team picked up its second win of the 2025 season in a 7-0 sweep of Shankville-Stonycreek.
This was Tyrone’s second match sweep of the season. The first one came against Huntingdon, where they defeated the Bearcats 5-0.
On the singles side, as Tyrone’s number one, Tyrone senior Nicole Ramsey defeated Shanksville’s Rayleigh Edwards, 10-2.
“I really enjoyed playing, especially because it is my senior year and I’m attempting to make the best of it,” Ramsey said.
Another notable win was in the doubles match with senior Jenna Watson and freshman Charlie Murphy, who both earned their first varsity win.
“It was an amazing experience. Jenna and I played a great game against strong competitors and overall enjoyed playing our match,” Murphy said.
Other singles wins for the Lady Eagles included Ezri Bumgarner, Jocelyn Diehl, and Cassidy Fleck.
In doubles, Cassie Behrer and Addison Davis, Emily Christofer and Grace Zimmerman also won their matches.
