The long-awaited first win for the Tyrone Lady Eagles finally arrived on Thursday, September 26 when the Lady Eagles played at Greater Johnstown and took the win.
Sophomore Piper Sparklyn earned the shutout in goal and the Lady Eagles put in 12 goals in the win.
The first goal came 6 minutes into the first half when freshman Kadence Berry scored an unassisted goal. This was quickly followed up by senior Brily Campbell, who scored just 19 seconds after Berry’s goal.
Freshman Maya Plummer scored less then three minutes later with another unassisted goal for the Lady Eagles.
Shortly after Maya’s goal, Kadence Berry Scored once again. This time she was assisted by Briley Campbell.
Tyrone came out strong in the first 10 minutes of the game scoring 5 goals, though they didn’t stop there. Briley Campbell kept the team’s energy up by scoring a goal assisted by Alice Knarr.
With the time in the first half ticking down, senior Marissa Cacciotti scored her first goal of the game and last goal of the half.
Going into the second half of the game the Eagles took the lead with a score of 7-0. They kept the energy flowing from the first half into the second and continued to score.
The first goal of the second half was scored by Hailey Loupe, and assisted by Briley Campbell.
Around eight minutes after Loupe’s goal, Briley Campbell scored her third goal of the game. Her goal was assisted by junior Jaysa Carns. At this point in the game, The Lady Eagles had a 9 point lead over the Trojans which means that Briley had ⅓ of the team’s total goals.
Wanting to get in on some action herself, sophomore Allie Blaska scored two back-to-back unassisted goals.
To finish off the game, senior Briley Campell scored the final goal. Campbell had an amazing game with 4 goals.
The Lady Eagles are starting to play up to their full potential and are starting to make the necessary goals needed to win games.
