The first time the Lady Eagles played Bald Eagle they lost 4-2 at home. In their second meeting on October 10, Tyrone played much better taking Bald Eagle to overtime, but fell 5-4 on a goal with under a minute left in overtime.
Despite the close loss, sophomore Alice Knarr thought the team played well.
“I think it was a very well-fought game and everybody left everything on the field. It came down to some unlucky situations but it was the best we’ve ever played as a team,” said Knarr.
Bald Eagle got out to a quick start, with a goal just 21 seconds into the game, 85 on BEA had a clear shot, making a goal right in front of the goal.
Tyrone tied the game less than 3 minutes later when senior Briley Campbell crossed the ball to freshman Kadence Berry in front of the goal and Berry buried the ball in the net.
With 21 minutes and 43 seconds remaining in the first half, Bald Eagle earned a penalty kick for a push in the box, and BEA took advantage and scored
With five minutes and 25 seconds remaining in the first half, BEA scored a goal by going around the defender and making a shot near the 10-yard line.
With 3 minutes and 58 seconds remaining in the first half, Campbell dribbled up the field and scored a goal near the 20-yard line.
The score at the end of the first half was 3- in favor of Bald Eagle
Tyrone and Bald Eagle made good passes throughout the game, and it was very fast.
With 29 minutes and 54 seconds remaining in the second half, Campbell scored another goal from the corner of the 18 box.
Bald Eagle had a penalty kick 25 minutes and 27 seconds remaining in the game, but it was not a goal.
Tyrone had many penalties called against them for pushing.
With 13 minutes and 56 seconds remaining in the second half, Campbell kicked the ball near the goal, but it was pushed out, Tyrone then helped get it into the goal.
With 17 seconds remaining in the game, Bald Eagle made a goal a couple of feet in front of the goal, but it was called off on an offside penalty.
The score was 4-4 at the end of the game, but they were going into overtime.
During overtime with 41 seconds remaining, Bald Eagle got a goal from the 10-yard line, Sparklin attempted to stop it but failed. BE won in overtime.
