The Tyrone Lady Eagles varsity soccer team defeated the Huntington Bearcats 2-0 at home on Thursday.
The Lady Eagles entered the game with a 3-8-2 record, and the Bearcats came in with a 3-8-4 record.
The Lady Eagles started fast and aggressively. In the first half, Tyrone played their defense high and did not let the Bearcats penetrate into their defensive zone.
Tyrone scored in the first half, making the score 1-0. That set them up to not panic and give the ball away, and play good defense.
“Everyone did their part, and that’s what it takes to pull off a win like this,” said junior Allie Blaska.
After halftime, the girls continued to play in the same manner as they had in the first half. They didn’t panic or give the ball away to give the Bearcats an advantage to come back.
The Tyrone girls gained energy to go up and score again, making the score 2-0.
The Lady Eagles played out the rest of the game defensively to lock down yet another win for them.
