Gibbons Carries Lady Eagles to Victory Over Rams
Senior Kayelin Gibbons led the Lady Eagles over the Rams this past Thursday, January 19th, scoring 29 of the 47 points for the Eagles.
Tyrone lost their last matchup at home against the Rams by 6, so winning by 12 was a big improvement for Lady Eagles.
Both teams had a hard time putting the ball in the basket initially, but the lack of defensive rebounds resulted in a lot of second-chance points, which Tyrone capitalized on.
Tyrone Head Coach Luke Rhoades was happy with the win, but not impressed with the style of play in the game.
“We got off to a solid start, but when we stopped rebounding and got careless with the ball, we struggled to score. We have to keep cleaning things up. I am happy we found a way to win,” said Tyrone Head Coach Luke Rhoades
Gibbons was also effective on both offensive and defensive rebounds, giving her a double-double.
The Lady Eagles will take on Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders this Saturday, January 21st, at the Jaffa Mosque.
