Get “In The Know” About Prom
The 2019 TAHS Prom will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Altoona Grand Hotel from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Despite the location change, there will still be a Grand March which will begin at approximately 6:45 pm outside of the Altoona Grand Hotel.
Cost of admission to the prom is still $40 per person and includes the choice of a prom t-shirt, long sleeve t-shirt, or crew neck sweatshirt.
Students who would like to help reduce the cost of prom can take part in the BakeShop Bakes fundraiser from March 25th, through April 5th. To participate, just pick up a packet outside Miss McLarren’s room, 110, or Miss Markel’s room, 229.

Important information and dates to remember:
- All forms and fees, paid in full, must be turned into Miss Markel in Room 229 or Miss McLarren in Room 110 between Monday, April 8th and Friday, April 19th. Late forms will not be accepted, and fees are nonrefundable.
- Money owed to the TASD for prom registration fees, prom fundraisers, cafeteria bills, library fines, books, uniforms, class projects, and/or fundraisers from any TAHS club/group/class must be paid in full by Monday, May 13th, 2019 to the main office. If bills and fines are not paid you will not be admitted into The Altoona Grand Hotel for “TAHS Prom 2019”. Tickets cost $40 and check or money order should be made payable to TAHS.
- Table sign-up will be on Thursday, April 25 & 26, 2019 in Miss. McLarren’s room 110.
- All detentions must be completed by Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 in order to attend the prom. Any student on suspension on the date of the prom will not be permitted to attend.
- Admission tickets, royal court voting tickets, parking pass, and other pertinent information will be distributed to all students attending the prom on Monday, May 13th, 2019, in the cafeteria. For couples, the student whose name appears on the form stapled on top will receive the packet. If your guest is not an 11th or 12th-grade TAHS student, please do not put their registration form on top.
- School is in session on the day of the prom. If you do not attend school on May 17th, you will not be permitted to attend the prom. Dismissal for students will be 10:30 a.m. Students must submit a dismissal form signed by a parent/guardian to the attendance office by Thursday, May 16th to be dismissed at 10:30 a.m. for prom preparations. Dismissal forms will be available outside Miss. Markel’s Room 229 or Miss. McLarren’s Room 110 beginning May 7th.
- Decorations at the “Altoona Grand Hotel” may be viewed from 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. only.
- As per the handbook: 15 tardy unexcused- NO PROM 10 or more absence unexcused- NO PROM
- Formal dress is required throughout the entire event. No jeans or casual wear is permitted. Dress shirts must be worn and buttoned at all times.
