GACTC to hold Open House on December 1
Attention TAHS students: interested in learning what career options the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center (GACTC) has to offer?
Then head down to the GACTC at 1500 4th Avenue in Altoona on Tuesday, December 1 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm for their annual Open House.
The GACTC has almost 30 programs to pick from including Administrative Office Specialist, Admission Procedures, Automotive Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Cabinetmaking/Finishing Carpentry, Collision Repair & Refinishing Tech, Computer Programing/Oracle Academy, Computer Technology/Cisco Academy, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Dental Assistant, Digital Printing Tech, Drafting/Design Tech, Electrical trades, Electromechanical Engineering Tech, Emergency Services, Health Occupations, HVAC/Plumbing, Interior Decorating & Finishing, Logistic & Material Management, Masonry, Multimedia and Web Design, Outdoor Power Equipment Tech, Precision Machining, Retail Marketing/Entrepreneurship, Visual Arts Technology, and Welding Technology.

“Before you decide to go make sure to keep your grades up and have good attendance,” said TAHS guidance councilor April Campbell.
Students have to apply but the process can be competitive, especially for some programs. But don’t be shy and apply!
Online registration for GACTC will begin on December 2 at the GACTC website (click link).
The application deadline for the GACTC is February 2, but the school deadline for some programs may be earlier, so students should contact Mrs. Campbell in the guidance office for more information.
