GACTC student application deadline is January 26
Students can apply online and should also inform Mrs. Campbell in the Guidance Department
Students interested in joining the fifty other current Tyrone students attending the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center (GACTC) must apply online by January 26th and inform Mrs.Campbell at the middle school guidance office.
There is a total of 27 different high school programs that are available for students at the GACTC.
According to Mrs.Campbell, the most popular programs among Tyrone students are the automotive, cosmetology, welding, HVAC, plumbing and culinary arts programs.
“Anybody can sign up and apply, but there’s an application process due to the fact that many other schools send students to the GACTC” said Mrs.Campbell. “Many programs are competitive and they choose the applicants who are best suited for the program.”
Most GACTC programs are three year programs so many students begin as sophomores and attend GACTC through 12th grade.
