Freshman Spotlight: MacKenzie Latchford
Eagle Eye: What is the biggest transition from middle school to high school in your opinion?
Mackenzie Latchford: “Just the fact of keeping on top of the work I get and the rotation of classes.”
EE: Do you have any sports or extracurricular activities you are excited to continue into high school?
ML: “Yes, I am looking forward to playing soccer and track in high school.”
EE: What is something you will miss about middle school?
ML: “Mostly that it was more simple compared to high school.”
EE: What is something you didn’t expect about high school?
ML: “How much more laid back it is than I expected compared to middle school.”
EE: What is your favorite thing about being in high school so far?
ML: “My favorite thing about high school so far would have to be the hour long advisory period to catch up on work, and ask questions.”
EE: Which class is the most difficult? Why?
ML: “History because I struggled with that my whole time as a middle schooler as well.”
EE: What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?
ML: “Soccer and track because it’s exhilarating to me and I love the competitiveness of both.”
EE: What/who is your favorite song/artist right now?
ML: “I’m not too sure because I have a wide range of artists I listen to, but if I had to pick one it would be Carrie Underwood.”
EE: Who is your favorite teacher, why?
ML: “Mr. Wilson because he’s really mellow and has a good teaching style that is easy to understand.”
EE: What advice would you give to next year’s freshman?
ML: “Just relax, keep up with your work because these are the years that matter the most.”
