First Quarter Run Boosts Eagles Over Huntingdon

Tyrone junior Dravyn Crowell started Thursday’s game at home vs. Huntingdon with a steal into a fast break layup, setting the tone for what was an easy 65-39 victory for the Golden Eagles.

It was Crowell’s night as he led all scorers with 15. Tyrone sophomore Drew Escala added 10.

“I think we played really well, It was a big comeback from Tuesday’s loss against Clearfield. The turnover ratio was a lot smaller and we played great defense as a team,” said Crowell.

Tyrone’s press was very effective against the Bearcats, resulting in multiple turnovers and points for the Golden Eagles.

The first quarter ended with Tyrone in command of the game, 25-8.

Huntingdon never really threatened to make the contest close and with the game in hand, several of Tyrone’s JV players got their first varsity minutes in the fourth quarter.

Kendall Lehner scored four in the varsity game and led the team with 20 points in the junior varsity game.

The 5-3 Golden Eagles will face undefeated Johnstown on the road Saturday. It will be an exciting game, as Tyrone will have to step it up against the fast-paced Trojan offense.
