The Tyrone Area FFA was visited by two of Pennsylvania’s State FFA Officers: President Chloe Bomgardner and Sentinel Kennady Laird on November 8.
Their visit inspired students, igniting their enthusiasm as they advanced on their personal growth journeys.
The day was filled with hands-on activities emphasizing essential skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork, and trust.
Participants enjoyed a variety of engaging events, including relay races, untangling human knots, constructing the tallest tower with teammates, and playing the classic game of telephone.
Each activity imparted valuable lessons about the significance of listening, building trust, and effective teamwork in real-world scenarios.
Reilly Rawlings, a junior at Tyrone Area FFA and former member of the Pennsylvania FFA nominating committee, shared his perspective on the impact of the state officers.
“The state officers have grown immensely since their time as candidates. They are now leading workshops and changing the lives of Pennsylvania FFA members across the state,” Rawlings said.
The insights shared by Bomgardner and Laird extended beyond skill development; they also encouraged students to reflect on their future career paths. The officers addressed overcoming communication barriers and the qualities of an ideal leader, delivering advice that resonated with many and inspired them to aim high.
Sophomore Adam Ray expressed his appreciation for the state officers’ visit.
“It made me feel happy that the state officers came to see our chapter because they helped teach us valuable lessons in a fun way,” Ray said.
