The Tyrone Area FFA is set to launch its largest fundraiser of the year, the 12th annual Clay Shoot, on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Sophomore FFA member Aubrey Biter attended the event last year and is excited to do it again.
“The clay shoot was super fun last year. I took part in the shooting part, and even though I lost, it was still a great time to hang out with people and meet new friends,” Biter said.
The event is at the Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge and Kennels in Ginter, PA, and the public is encouraged to attend.
There are three flight times to select from: 10:00 AM, 12:15 PM, or 2:30 PM.
Participants will enjoy a 50-target course, where individuals or teams of up to four members will compete for bragging rights, gift cards, and a $200 first prize for the team event, which must be declared during check-in.
In addition to the competitive shooting, all participants will receive lunch and a t-shirt.
Proceeds support the Tyrone Area FFA and its program at the high school.
Shooter eligibility requires participants aged 12-17 to register as junior entries and present a hunter safety card or valid hunting license to join the competition.
Fees:
- Adult & Junior Entry Fee: $50.00
- Lunch Only Fee: $10.00
- T-shirt Only Fee: $15.00
Participants are welcome to bring their own firearms and ammunition, with the stipulation that ammunition must be size 7 1/2, 8, or 9 shot for use on clay courses.
Ammunition can also be purchased at the facility during the shoot. Firearms may be shared, and strict safety precautions must be adhered to at all times.
All participants are required to wear ear protection, eye protection, and a hat while on the course.
