Featured Artist: Katrina Hagenbuch
Junior Katrina Hagenbuch has won many awards for her art the past few years but she hasn’t gotten the spotlight at school that she deserves.
“Art to me is a way to communicate ideas. I can tell a story through my different art works,” said Hagenbuch.
She finds inspirations in her art through pictures she takes of her fair animals, which included two goats and two dairy-beef cows.
Hagenbuch has won several awards for her art, including the Grand Champion for her piece “Ignite” at the Huntingdon County Fair, 2nd place in the Tyrone 2014 art show and 2nd place again at the Huntington county fair.
Hagenbuch likes to create art that reflects her everyday life, especially her show animals and pets.
“When I see an image I just start thinking of different ideas and mediums”, said Hagenbuch, “nature and animals, that’s what usually inspires my art work.”
“The most rewarding thing to me is seeing my artwork hanging around the fair. I get to show my talent at one of my most important events,” Hagenbuch said.
