Everhart, Mickle and Dixon Take Top Honors at the 2017 TAHS Art Show
Junior Scotti Everhart wins Best in Show for the second straight year
The 2017 Tyrone High School Art Show showcased an immense amount of talent and creativity, with forms of art varying from acrylic paintings to graphite portraits.
While all the works were impressive, several students showed skills rose that above the expectations of the viewers.
Junior Scotti Everhart won the Best in Show Award with her graphite portrait titled “Worn Out.”
“I feel really good about winning this year. I put a more effort into my art than I do anything, so it feels good to be rewarded,” said Everhart.
Sophomore Lee Mickle and her acrylic painting titled “Lucid Dreaming” which won the Excellence in Creativity Award. Lastly, Taylor Dixon won the Outstanding Senior Creativity award for her artwork.
When asked how they felt about winning an award in the show, Lee Mickle humbly said that she “didn’t deserve the award” and “wished she put better pieces in the show” but the audience seemed to think differently seeing she won a “People’s Choice” award.
Senior Taylor Dixon said “I feel honored. I have worked very hard on all my work, and whenever I won, I felt all that all my hard work was paid off.”
