Eagles Wrestlers Dominated by Penns Valley Rams

Tuesday night the Tyrone varsity wrestlers took on the Penns Valley Rams and suffered a decisive 59-18 loss.

The Golden Eagles only won three bouts in the match while giving up forfeits at three weight classes: 113,132, and 152.

On the bright side for Tyrone, freshman Zack Lash earned a pin against Penns Valley senior Clayton Upcraft in the first 58 seconds of his match.

Tyrone’s Ashton Sipes caused Penns Valley’s Hayden Yearick to throw in the towel with a 13 point lead and only 38 seconds remaining in the match.

Tyrone’s Tommy Hicks pinned Penns Valley’s Dristen Wolfe in the last 1:29 in the match.

Penns Valley won all the other matches that night, including PV’s Clayton Royer who pinned senior Brandon Ixtepan in 0:27 seconds.

PV’s Dillon Covalt pinned Tyrone’s Parker Allen in 0:39 seconds and Baylor Shunk won by technical fall over Tyrone’s Mason Walls, 20-4.
