Eagles Fall in Huntingdon Rematch
The Eagles walked all over Huntingdon the first game that they played, beating them by 21 points back in December. But this time the Eagles played in front of a packed house at Huntingdon Area High School and the Bearcats clawed their way to a 71-64 win over the Golden Eagles, handing Tyrone only their second loss of the season.
Juniors Damon Gripp and Jake Taylor were Tyrone’s leading scorers with 21 and 20 points scoring 41 out of the 64 total points.
Huntingdon had a very balanced attack with all five of their starters scoring in the double digits.
Tyrone was barely trailing Huntingdon during the first quarter with the score 10-13.
In the second quarter, the Bearcat’s began to pull away scoring 15 to the 8 points that Tyrone scored, making the score 28-18 going into the half.
During the third quarter, both teams went back and forth with Tyrone scoring 14 and the Bearcats scoring 16.
The Eagles began to make a fourth-quarter comeback, but they ran out of time scoring 32 points to Huntingdon’s 27 points ending the game with a score of 64-71.
The loss ties Huntingdon for the current lead in the Mountian League, with both teams being 8-1 with their only league losses being to each other.
