Eagle Eye Big Buck Contest Results

Thanks to the seven TAHS hunters who entered the 2022 Eagle Eye Big Buck Contest and congratulations to our winners.

Freshman Lexi Hess won the popular vote with 1,368 votes, and senior Butch Barr won the random drawing.

They each received a $20 Sheetz gift card courtesy of the Eagle Eye!

Look for the Big Buck Contest to return next fall.  Until then, good luck hunters!

EE: How big was your buck? 

Lexi Hess: “8 points and it scored a 132.” 

EE: When and where did you get this buck? 

LH: “Warriors mark, November 28th around 8:30 am.” 

EE: How did you get this buck? 

LH: “It was at the top of a hill by my tree stand between a bunch of trees and brush. I quickly got the sight of the deer and pulled the trigger. I only had a few seconds before it got away.” 

EE: How long have you been hunting? 

LH: “Since I was around 8.” 

EE: Where do you usually hunt? 

LH: “Pennington Camp.” 

EE: Who do you usually hunt with? 

LH: “My dad.”

EE: What kind of gun/bow do you hunt with?

LH: “6 mm.” 

EE: Best advice for other hunters?

LH: “Patience is key and very important. Sometimes deer come quickly and other times you’ll find yourself in a stand for hours on end.”

BB: “On the third day of rifle season with my Dad’s gun, in his spot.”

BB: “8 years.”

EE: Where do you usually hunt?

BB: “On Ice Mountain.”

EE: Who do you usually hunt with?

BB: “My Dad or Uncle.” 

EE: What kind of gun/bow do you hunt with?

BB: “Savage Axis MK2 chambered in 7mm08.”

EE: Best advice for other hunters?

BB: “You can’t eat the antlers.”
