Despite Senior Night Loss, Tyrone Finds Positives vs Chestnut Ridge
Tyrone put up a Fight Against a Tough Lions Team
The Golden Eagles celebrated their senior night and even though the season did not go the way they had planned they still went into Friday’s with a positive attitude.
Chestnut Ridge was visibly larger than Tyrone and dominated the first half getting a quick four scores to go up 28-0. Right when the game looked to be a blowout, Tyrone senior Parker Mitchell threaded the needle and found Denver Light for a 38-yard score.
That touchdown electrified the Golden Eagles and they went on to force three Chestnut Ridge turnovers including two forced fumbles from Denver Light.
Tyrone managed to bring the game back within reach after Light scored his second of the night for on a 55-yard bomb from Parker Mitchell.
Light, the quarterback converted to tight end, finished with 5 receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns along with the two forced fumbles. Senior Brandon Loose added another by powering into the end zone from the one-yard line.
Chestnut Ridge is arguably one of the better teams in the area. The Lions blew out a tough Central team 42-2. Tyrone managed to put up 21 points giving them hope ahead of their playoff game Friday.
