DeHaas Named MVP of First Mountain League vs. ICC All-Star Game
Tyrone senior Landon DeHaas was named MVP in the first-ever Mountain League vs Inter-County Conference All-Star game last Saturday at Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
DeHaas scored a game-high 22 points, including five from beyond the arc. DeHaas also hit the game-winning three-pointer as the Mountain League Senior All-Stars beat the ICC Senior All-Stars 96-93.
The Mountain League trailed 49-48 at halftime but outscored the ICC 29-13 in the third quarter to take a 77-62 lead into the fourth. The ICC came back strong in the fourth, outscoring the Mountain League 31-19, and tied the game late in the fourth before DeHaas’ game-winning three-pointer.
DeHaas was named a First Team Mountain League All-Star, along with fellow Tyrone seniors Cortlynd Rhoades, who was named to the Second Team, and senior Keegan Gwinn, who was named as an honorable mention.
On the girl’s side, Tyrone’s Jaida Parker was the league co-MVP with Hollidaysburg’s Marin Miller. The Lady Eagles’ Kayelin Gibbons and Stephanie Ramsey were both named to the Girls’ First Team, while Emma Getz was selected to the Second Team.
