Lights aren’t the only thing that makes Tyrone beautiful during the holiday season. For over 40 years, the Tyrone Woman’s Club has been creating, selling, and displaying beautiful wreaths for local businesses and individuals.
Their hand-made wreaths can be found on doors up and down Washington Avenue and the light posts along the main street.
“It is a simple way to add beauty and harmony to the area,” Tyrone Women’s Club member Rose Black said.
Black said she likes how the members of the club come together to work on this project.
The club sold the wreaths for $25 each, and personally delivered them, making the process easy for everyone.
They typically sell approximately 500 wreaths a year, all handmade at a local greenhouse.
The proceeds from the sale help the Woman’s Club support the local Tyrone community by helping children or non-profit organizations each year.
The members of the Woman’s Club appreciate all the people who take advantage of the wreath sale and enjoy seeing the town looking so dressed up for the holiday season.
