DB Featuring: Mark Lewis

Every week starting tight end and defensive end Duane Boone (a.k.a. D.B.) will interview a key player on the Tyrone Golden Eagles football team.

DB: What’s the reason behind your parents naming you Mark?

ML: They narrowed it down to Lesquarius, Rocky, Benjamin, and Mark. Mark won out.

DB: So far has your senior year started up as you expected it would be?

ML: It’s flying by way faster than I ever thought it would.

DB: Out of all your 7 siblings who’s your favorite one?

ML: I can’t pick favorites like that. All of them can get a little annoying, but at the end of the day, I’m glad to have them around.

DB: How is it taking over the biggest role in Tyrone offense at center?

ML: I don’t know about biggest role, but I am definitely very lucky to be out there with some of my best friends. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

DB: What is your game plan after Graduation?

ML: I hope to earn a master’s of business administration from Stanford University.

DB: What do you think is the difference from this year and the previous two years?

ML: A lot of things have changed. The whole team, starting with the coaches and players,  are taking practice a lot more seriously. Also, what makes our team very unique is the fact that the senior leaders are all homeboys on and off the field.

DB: Who is your favorite NFL Center and why?

ML: No answer.

DB: Who do you most admire and why?

ML: No answer.

DB: How close are you and your quarterback?

ML: Garrett and I are best buds, we spend a lot of time hanging and chilling like villains.

DB: Do you believe you should be President of your class?

ML: No, because our class President Jake Makdad is the archetypal leader, and I’m honored to be his Vice President.

DB:Do you believe you should be President of the United States?

ML: Hahah, well, maybe someday. We’ll see where God takes me.
