Dance Fusion to Present 17th Annual Competition Showcase
This Saturday, Dance Fusion will hold its 17th annual competition showcase at the Tyrone Area High School Auditorium.
Since early September, members of the Dance Fusion Competition Team have been preparing for their several competitions of the 2019-2020 season.
To kick off their competitive season, they hold a showcase for the community, who usually don’t get to see the dances. This also helps the girls gain experience by performing on stage in front of an audience.
Dancers will perform styles such as modern, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and tap. Combined styles such as contacro, jacro, and lyripop will also be performed as well as some recreational dances performed by non-competition dancers.
“We are so excited to finally be showcasing our 2020 Competition pieces this Saturday! This years team was picked the first week of June so we have put eight months of practice, hard work, dedication and our heart and soul into these pieces,” says Dance Fusion owner Ms. Lindsay Pullara, “we already have our last year’s season beat!”
Several solos, small group dances, and large group dances will be performed as well as a duet and a trio. The team is made up of mostly Tyrone and Bellwood students who encourage everyone to attend.
“The showcase is a great way to see all of our hard work in one night and it shows a different aspect of dancing that people don’t typically take into account,” says senior member Natalie Berrena-Barr.
The 2020 Dance Fusion Competition Showcase will begin at 6:30 pm, and doors open at 6:00 pm.
Tickets are $8 and may be purchased at the door.
“I am really excited for showcase this weekend because we have some cool concepts that I think the audience will enjoy watching,” says sophomore dancer Paige Shultz.
Dance Fusion’s next performance will be at their first competition on Friday, February 21st, in Lancaster.
